My Everyday Makeup Routine

Hello everyone! If you read my last blog then you know that I am doing more of what I love, with one of those things being make up! I have prepared a series of looks that I'm very excited to share with you but first, I thought I would kick it off with my foundation routine. This is generally the look I rock when I'm not going anywhere special and I literally use all these products for every single look. I have posted a video on YouTube that you can find here as well.

Without further ado, here are the products I use:

Hourglass Mineral Veil Primer

I absolutely love the way this primer makes my skin feels. I can't perfectly describe how it feels but let's just say, I normally don't like to touch my face but because this makes my skin feel so different and soft, I actually enjoy rubbing this into my face. However, because it is so pricey, I generally don't like to use it everyday except on special occasions. If you've never tried this out, I would suggest visiting your nearest Sephora and rubbing a little bit into your skin.

Naked One and Done Foundation + Primer

I've been using this product religiously because I feel like it's one of the very few foundations that doesn't make me break out. Also, because it's winter time. I use a lighter shade than I normally would to blend with my actual foundation.

Hourglass Foundation Vanish Stick in Sand

This is another product that feels really nice on my skin. It glides on like butter and I enjoy the feeling of when it touches my face. This is also the closest shade I think I've ever gotten to my actual skin tone.

Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer in Sand

I have never really understood how to match and apply concealer so my old co-worker actually picked this shade out for me. There are many days where I skip concealer because I sometimes don't see a difference and since I'm not quite sure if I'm applying it right. Everytime I draw lines underneath my eyes, I feel like I'm drawing the shrugging emoji with text before emoji's existed. You know, this guy:
 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Urban Decay - Naked Skin Ultra Definition Finishing Powder

I forgot to mention in the video that I also sometimes use this to finish off the look but more often than not, I use the All Nighter finishing spray instead. What I do always use the finishing powder for is to keep my concealer in place when I do apply some on. I've noticed that it keeps the concealer from creasing which is great.

Clinique - Chubby Stick in Curvy Contour

Contouring is another thing I'm a noob at but I really think Clinque's Chubby Stick is great for a noob like me. It's a retractable stick which I really like since it makes it easy to trace the parts I need to contour. I usually just use extra product I've gathered from my cheeks and chin on my nose but in the video you can see how horribly I attempt to trace my nose lol.

Urban Decay - Afterglow Blush in Fetish

I think this color goes really well with any look and is my go-to blush. It's also the one I bring with me when I travel and hasn't failed me yet.

Pop Beauty - Contour 101

I really like the highlight in this palette but that's pretty much all I use it for. I think the blush has a little too much shimmer and the contour shade is a little too light for my taste. I mention that I think contour looks a little intense on my face but I'd rather blend away too much than pack on something too light.

Urban Decay - Afterglow Highlighter in Aura

I admit, I like to be extra. So therefore, sometimes, I like to add more bling to my face with this highlighter. However I have to point out that it doesn't always work.. Sometimes it's a little too iridescently pink that it clashes with some makeup looks. But for something bare like this, it definitely is the cherry on top!

Anastasia Beverly Hills - Brow Wiz in Medium Brown

Although the name says Brow Wiz, I am by no means a Brow Wiz! Amongst everything else, this is also another aspect I'm still trying to learn. I've stayed pretty loyal to ABH Brow Wiz as it was the first brow pencil I had ever tried out. My friend Carlen had put me on to it and gave me her Brow Wiz to encourage me to learn how to do brows and I've been trying ever since. I really like the shade Medium Brown because it's very subtle. It doesn't look too crazy when you first try it on and it looks natural to me.

Sephora - Wink It Eyeliner

Eyeliner is something I can say I am pretty good at since it's the first thing I learned to do. What I love about Sephora's Wink It Eyeliner is that it doesn't smear. One of my pet peeves with eyeliner is when it smudges on your face and you look like you got punched in the eye. Admittedly, I end up sleeping in my makeup sometimes and this eyeliner never budges even through my rough nights.

Glossier - Rose Balm Dotcom

Oh rose balm dotcom! What would I do without you? Seriously guys, I hate balm. I don't like Chapstick or even flavored Lip Smackers as a kid when they first came out. I just hate the feeling of balm on my lips because somehow, they make my lips more chapped than I started with. I always had this theory that lip balm was made to make you need it. This product however is the exact opposite. It actually helps me when my lips are cracked and peeling. I actually like they way it tastes and I pile it on generously.

Urban Decay - All Nighter Spray

I have been faithful to this finishing spray even before one of my best friends who works for UD stocked me up on this stuff. I used to use Mac Studio Fix but I prefer to use brands that are cruelty free so I've opted for this and haven't used anything since. I love the way it smells and it truly locks down my looks every time.

Pixi by Petra - Lash Primer

Once I've sprayed my face and locked down my look, it's time for lashes. I generally don't like to do lashes before I spray because my mascara has a tendency to want to run off my lashes probably because I close my eyes so hard I squish the sh*t out of my eyelids. I really like this lash primer since I feel like it also curls my lashes and helps to separate each lash perfectly.

Urban Decay - Perversion Mascara

Last but not least, I like to top it all off with this mascara. I feel like the wand really fluffs up my lashes and gives me that extra boost that I need. Since I've been wearing this with the Pixi Lash Primer, I've rarely used any false lashes these days.

And that's that! I hope you enjoyed a little walkthrough of my routine. I had a blast shooting my first ever makeup video and I hope it helps those looking to create or refine an everyday makeup routine of their own. Let me know if you happen to use any of the products mentioned below! I'd love to hear from you!
