I first discovered Reiki last year while looking for intuitionists/psychic healers in hopes to find some guidance during my intense Saturn Return. For those who haven't heard of the term Saturn Return, it is when Saturn is in the same position as when you were born which has major influence towards your induction into adulthood and happens around ages 27-29. That's it in a nutshell, but Google it, especially if you're around that age.. It's a trip.
I thought Reiki was a great introduction into the psychic world as I have always been afraid to mess with that realm. Now what is Reiki you ask? By definition, it is: a healing technique based on the principle that the therapist can channel energy into the patient by means of touch, to activate the natural healing processes of the patient's body and restore physical and emotional well-being.
Admittedly, I'm not sure how Reiki works but holy crap, it works. I was skeptical at first but I'm glad I did because I never knew about energy and it's importance. So far, I have had 3 reiki sessions done and I can't tell you how much it's changed my life. I was confused at how Reiki showed up in my search for intuitionists but after going through a few sessions, I understand now. Each reiki master was able to pick up on so many different things in my life it was amazing. There was one common theme amongst all three which was, my lack of boundaries. I have learned so much about myself and I know I will continue to do Reiki for as long as I'm here. I know that doesn't really explain much but I'm telling you, go out and do it so you can experience it for yourself.
Let me tell you that I also mustered up the balls to see an intuitionist for shits and giggles but I was not as impressed. First off, she asked me for my birthday and immediately I was turned off. I'm a huge astrology geek and I know so many things can be assumed about you based on your sign and I felt like that's all the session was. I just didn't resonate with it as much as Reiki did. Also, none of the Reiki masters asked for my birthday which made it feel even more authentic.
Now the photo above is from my first ever blogger event I attended for Urban Decay. They had Radiant Human in the house which is a traveling photographer who possesses a camera that somehow catches the color of your aura. The result is the above. I can't remember exactly what the colors mean but if you watch my video here, the photographer explains it all. One thing I do remember was that white meant pure energy, and white barely shows up in my photo unlike my two friends who you'll see at the bottom.
One thing my last Reiki master mentioned was that I was not letting pure energy in. She said I was holding myself back from myself. This all sounded too familiar. This is a challenge of mine that I've been working on forever, but only now have been brave enough to face. This is why I decided to finally pull through with this blog because I no longer want to hold myself back. Having this blog, means I make "me" time.. And how many of us actually allow for "me" time nowadays? We are so wrapped up in external factors we forget to work on ourselves. I hope sharing this inspires you to work on you as well.
I am so proud that I have actually pulled through with daily blogs and am almost at my goal for "16 for 2016." I missed a few days but it's definitely the most I've ever been able to commit to. I can feel a change, and I couldn't have done it without the advice and healing from my Reiki masters.
I'm not quite where I want to be yet, but I know I can get there. I just have to believe, and it will manifest. Just watch me.. ;)
