Becca Hydra-Mist Setting Powder Review

I am so happy to have received my first ever, @Influenster Vox-Box that included this Becca Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder! If you are an aspiring blogger like me, I implore you to create an Influenster account so you can contribute reviews and maybe even receive everyday products that you might use like this one! This Vox-Box came just in time for my Cabo vacay and I'm glad I was able to test this product there.

What is the Becca Hydra-Mist Setting Powder?

It's an ultra-translucent setting powder made up of 50% water and glycerin that looks like a powder but feels like water when applied.  This was perfect because I didn't want to bring a setting spray as other liquids had taken precedence in my allotted TSA liquid bag. Also, it not only sets but cools as well.

How do you like the Becca Hydra-Mist Setting Powder?

When I saw that it was made with 50% water, I was super curious to know what the consistency would feel like and how that would work. I have never tried any water powders in the past but apparently, this was a trend amongst cosmetics companies awhile back. I'm not too familiar with many setting powders, having only used Laura Mercier and BareMinerals Mineral Veil. Both of which I wasn't too fond of. As translucent as they claim to be, I felt like it unwantedly brightened my skin.

Let me tell you, the Hydra-Mist powder did not add any color to my face. I wasn't wearing too much make-up to begin with so I can't speak much to the setting part but it definitely cooled my skin. I was generous with the amount of powder I put on the provided kabuki brush and even still, no added color.

My only gripe with setting powders in general is that it can be messy. It's not as convenient as taking out your setting spray bottle and quickly giving your skin a pick me up. However, in hot weather, the Hydra-Mist setting powder is perfect because it feels cool yet dry at the same time. It's weird. I don't know if that makes sense but only the application itself feels wet. Once the brush is off your face it's dry. It's really something you have to try for yourself.

How much is the Hydra-Mist Setting Powder?

It's $38 at Sephora and Ulta for 0.35 oz which is a little pricey for me but you get what you pay for. It delivered exactly what it said it would do which is to set and refresh.

Would you buy the Hydra-Mist Setting Powder again?

I honestly think that this jar is going to last me awhile since I only plan on using this on hot days. I love how super-lightweight it is, almost feels like you're wearing nothing, yet cooling at the same time. I was really excited to apply this on my face whenever I had the chance. I think it is great for what it says it does but I don't think it will be my go-to setting powder since hot days come few and far in between here in SF. But I absolutely loved it in Cabo weather and definitely plan on bringing this again to tropical, hot places. So yes, when it runs out and if the product is still around, I would love to buy it again.

I am so very grateful to Influenster for sending me this complimentary Vox-Box so I can review a product I wouldn't have otherwise known about. If you are planning on getting this product or have any questions about it, let me know in the comments below! Thanks for reading!
